We were pretty busy yesterday, and I think I over-did it a little. Just a few errands & grocery shopping, but my back & feet were KILLING me! The heat doesn't help of course. I have to admit that I'm not really looking forward to August. It's just going to be another month of unbearably hot weather & being more and more pregnant. I try not to complain TOO much, because we've wanted this for so long and I know it's all going to be worth it once we see our little one's face.
We went to Micheal's to look at wooden letters to spell "Sweet Dreams" over the crib, but I didn't really care for the fonts that they have. I think we'll probaby just get the one's they have at Wal-Mart; I liked them better and they were less expensive. I really want to get the letters hung before next weekend.
Why next weekend you ask? It's my baby shower!!! My friends, Rebecca, Lisa & Pam are throwing it for me and I'm so excited! I'm so blessed to have friends like these girls. I know they're really working hard to make it a special day to celebrate this new life that's coming into the world.
Last night was Game Night. We get together once a month with two couples, Kevin & Pam and Michael & Lisa. We always have so much fun, we've been doing it for about 3 1/2 years. Chris & Kevin have been best friends since forever, and we've become really good friends with Michael & Lisa since they joined us the first time.
Kevin & Pam have a nine year old daughter, Destiny. She's a great girl and so beautiful! I can't believe she'll be 10 in January. We've known her since she was about 6 months old or so. Michael & Lisa have two little girls, Victoria, almost 4, and Regan, 10 months. They are both so sweet & so much fun to be around. I can't wait for our little one to get to know these kids. We have such great friendship with all of their parents, and I really hope it translates into our childrens lives too.
My friend and co-worker Leigh had her baby yesterday. She shocked us all by having a little girl. We were all so sure that she was going to have a boy, but little miss Rachel Nicole had other plans! I went to the hospital to visit them today. She is just too cute! And so little. It really brought it home that we're going to have a little one in not too many weeks. I hope we're ready!
Well, I've written a novel today. Thanks for reading if you made it this far!

2nd time's a charm?
Okay, I'm going to give this blogging thing a try again. I'm still not positive I have anything interesting to talk about; but that's going to change drastically in about 10 weeks. Most anyone who will read this already knows me, but just in case someone happens to wander by, I'll give a little background...
I've been married to my husband, Chris, for a little over eight years. (Amazing it's been that long!) After nearly three years of trying, we're expecting our first child in October of this year. This is going to be the first grandchild on both sides, so of course our parents are beside themselves with anticipation. We're driving everyone a little crazy though because we're not finding out the sex of the baby; which of course makes shopping for clothes pretty impossible. But it will all be worth it in the end.
The families:
My parents, Don & Donnesia, have been married for nearly 32 years and currently live in Evans, GA; a suburb of Augusta. We're really hoping that they can move back to Metro Atlanta very soon!I have a younger sister, Haley, she's 26, who's kind of in between homes right now while she trains for a new job.
Chris' parents, Ronnie & Kaye, have been married for 36 years and live about 6 minutes from us in Loganville, GA. His grandmother & aunt also live there with them. We are very lucky to have them so close!
Well, I guess that's enough for now. I'm really going to try and keep this updated. I think it will be a great way for out-of-state family to keep up with what's going on with us as we near the end of this pregnacy and once the baby arrives.
