A couple of pictures
Weekend getaway with the girls...
This past weekend I went on a scrapbooking retreat with the girls. It was me, Lisa, Rebecca & Laurel; Kimberly was supposed to join us as well, but unfortunately had to miss it due to a car situation. We missed you Kimberly! What a great weekend it was! Lisa and I drove up on Friday and met Rebecca & Laurel who'd been there since Thursday. The cabin was gorgeous! The view off the front porch was beautiful, as you can see from the photo below. The original reason for the getaway was scrapbooking, but Lisa and I both came to the conclusion that we didn't care too much about being productive, it was more about relaxing & enjoying our time away from the kidlets. On numerous occasions we would just be sitting there, doing nothing, and comment about how nice it was to not have to worry about anything but relaxing. This was my first time away from Jonathan for overnight, and I think I did pretty good. The girls may disagree with me considering I called my parents (where he was staying) at least 3-4 times a day. It was just so wierd without him around and I missed him alot. I called Chris a lot too! ;o) Chris left Sunday to go out of town for a business trip, so we overlapped by a couple of days. It was so nice when he got home yesterday. I don't like not being around my family.
I was fairly productive when it comes to scrapbooking too. I made a mini-album using coasters from Red Lobster for Jonathan's "month by month" pictures. I also did two regular pages. I'll take pics & post them soon. I know it doesn't sound like I got a lot done, but like I said, I was mostly there to relax. And apparently eat! We had so much food, and most of it was junk. I think by the time we left Monday morning, just the thought of food made us feel ill. But isn't that part of what vacation is about? Eating junk food till you're sick? Well, if it isn't, it should be.

I hope that we can continue to do these weekend getaways in the future. It was a great way to unwind & just relax for a few days with no demands on your time.
It seems like I had more to say, but all of a sudden I can't remember what it was. Must not have been too important. Oh well, until next time...

7 months!
7 months old! Can you believe it? We had a little photo shoot today & I just had to share a few of my favorites. I'm seriously considering looking into what it takes to get a baby into modeling. I know I'm biased, but he's just so photogenic. There was a contest in Parenting magazine for a cover baby. They put the finalists in the magazine (and online)... I think Jonathan is just as cute (and of course cuter!) than a lot of these kids. He has such a sweet disposition too, I think he'd be great at modeling. I'll have to check it out. ;o)

Happy Birthday Mom!
Yesterday was my mom's 50th birthday. (I'm sure she'll love that I just put that out there! Love ya, Mom!) My sister and I decided to throw her a suprise party on Saturday to celebrate. She had no idea! With all of our car troubles, I'd been staying at their house nearly the whole week before, and I have to admit, it was really hard not to slip up & say something. I was stressing pretty bad by Thursday that I wasn't going to be able to do everything I needed to. Thankfully the car was ready on Thursday. So after stopping by the hospital to visit Ethan & everyone, Lisa was kind enough to let me use her Sam's membership to get the food I needed.
Here are a few pictures from the party:
The big SUPRISE! We had told Mom that their Pastor (the gentleman in the very back) needed to talk with her about the Women's Ministry at their church. He brought her down to the fellowship hall where we were all waiting in the dark.

One evening while we were staying at my parents house we gave Jonathan a bath in the sink. He had a great time splashing, as you can see. I pretty much got a bath too!
