Tonight was Jonathan's first experience trick-or-treating. He wasn't too happy when I drew on his face & put the costume on; but once we got outside & walked around he was fine. Isn't he just the cutest lion ever!
We also went to the zoo today, so I'll post some pictures from that later.

12 month portraits
We took Jonathan last weekend to get his 12 month portraits done, and here are just a few. We've been taking him to Portrait Innovations and they do such a great job. It's so hard to choose which ones to buy; which usually means we buy way too many.
Yeah, I know my arm is in the frame on this one, but they put a border around it when they printed it so it wouldn't show. I think this one is my favorite.
I still have to post about his birthday weekend. Maybe I can do that later today... stay tuned.

One year ago...
One year ago, this very minute, 10:59pm, my life changed forever.
After many years of struggling with infertility, miscarraiges, and not the easiest of pregnancies, God brought Jonathan into our lives. I knew our lives were going to change dramatically; you can't be a pregnant woman & not have someone tell you how much it's going to change. I wasn't prepared for how completely and immediately the love for your child consumes you. I had never wanted anything as badly as I wanted a child, and here he was, my miracle.
There have certainly been struggles throughout this past year, but I wouldn't trade one nanosecond of it. When Jonathan smiles at me, when he grasps my finger, when he laughs... all is right in the world.
I thank God daily for making us a family, but there never seem to be enough thanks to express how I feel. So, thank you, God, for the most amazing year of my life. And I pray for many, many, many more.

There's not too much going on around here. I'm just trying to finish getting everything ready for Jonathan's birthday party on Saturday. How is is possible that he's going to be one on Friday!? I know I've said it a million times, but I just can't believe how fast this year has gone by. I know they'll just keep going faster from now on, and I have to say. I don't like it one bit.
I've been in the mood to redo our bedroom lately. Right now the walls are painted a soft yellow & our (crappy) furniture is painted white. None of it matches, and the paint is peeling off of the *assembly required* armoire. Not a pretty sight. I'd love to have a bedroom that I can be proud to show off to guests. Now I just want to shut the door and not let anyone in. So, I've been doing some online shopping & here's what I've found that I really like. I found this bedding on JC Penney's website. I love the colors. I think what I'd like to do is paint the wall where the bed goes the chocolate brown for an accent and the other walls the lighter khaki color. Don't you think that would look good?
I've also been looking for new bedroom furniture. We've never had new bedroom furniture and I think it's about time. I found this on Rooms To Go's website. I've always liked the look of a sleigh bed. I usually go for lighter colored wood, but I think this is really pretty.
Tell me what you think...
