snack time
I thought I'd snap a few pics this morning while Jboy had his snack & watched a little TV. The table that he's sitting on has had many names; coffee table, bed (Jboy would sleep on it when he was tiny), changing table, dining table (we eat in living room), play surface (cars go round & round & round), and obviously chair. When we bought our living room furniture Chris picked out this table. I wasn't too sure about it, but it's been one of the best purchases we've made.
"Why you takin' pictures of me, woman?"

Wish List
Do you ever think about the things that you would buy if money were no object? The thought crossed my mind earlier, and here are a few things that I came up with (in no particular order) ...
1. Point & Shoot Camera
Now, I already have a big Canon Rebel XT that I love and that takes great pictures. However, it's rather big & bulky, and therefore I tend to not take it with me when we leave the house. I'd love to get a little point & shoot to keep in my purse. I bet the grandparents would agree with this purchase... it would mean more pictures of the little man(n). Hint, hint. ;o)
2. iPod Touch
Now, I'll admit I don't really even know what this thing does. LOL I just keep hearing about all of the cool apps you can get that do just about anything you can think of. It could replace my current iPod, which I love & use all the time. I'm sure the games would come in handy when I need to keep Jboy occupied while waiting on... well, all the things you wait for.
3. Pink Laptop
We have a laptop. It's ancient & weighs about 900 pounds. One day we're going to each get a new laptop & get rid of this dinosaur and our desktop. When that day comes... I want a pink one. Why? Why not?
4. Privacy Fence
Now, this one isn't quite as "fun" as the others on the list, but equally as important. Jboy loves to play outside when the weather is warm, and I'm all for it, but I'm always having to tell him to stay in the backyard & not wander out front. A fence would solve that problem. I'd love to be able to sit out back & let him play to his heart's content & not always be warning him to not go up front. Unfortunately, this one is rather pricey. We had a company come out a couple of years ago & it's going to cost us almost $2000 to have a fence put in. Needless to say it's obvious why we haven't done it yet.
So, if money were no object, what are some fun things you'd buy?

too long
It's been too long since I've posted pictures of my little man(n). I used to get my camera out every day it seemed, now it can be days & weeks between photos. One day I'm going to regret that. Not one day, today. There are so many moments I've missed capturing. Nothing dramatic or too eventful, but every day life. So, I promise to do better. And in an effort to do just that, here are some pictures from bath time yesterday.
If you look closely, you can see that Jboy's left eye is all red. Yesterday I called the nurse to see if I should bring him in for pink eye. She said that as long as there wasn't any goop, we could just keep an eye (ha!) on it. Well, wouldn't you know it, this morning... goop. So, Jboy had his first sick day today. He feels fine, but I know that pink eye is very contagious. I called the doctor & we didn't even have to bring him in, she just called in a prescription for drops.
Now, the question is, will he be okay for school tomorrow? They're having "Snow Day" in his class tomorrow & I'd really hate for him to miss it. Any thoughts?

Again?
I think every child has a book that they want read over, and over, and over again. Right now, that book for Jboy is The Great Race in the Sweet Pickles series.
Did anyone else read these books as a kid? Chris had an entire tub of books from his childhood that we put in Jboy's room. Not only were there the Sweet Pickles books, but a lot of Dr. Suess, and a set of Sesame Street encyclopedias from like 1975.
I love that he kept these books & we can now share them with Jboy. Reading is a very important part of who I am, and I hope to share that love with Jonathan. One of my favorite things is opening a book for the first time. You never know where the story will take you & what you'll learn along the way.
Do you like to read? I'm always looking for new books & authors, so if you're a reader, post in the comments what you're reading now. I'd love to check it out!

Love, love, love
I love, love, love this new collection of scrapbook paper from Sassafras. It's called Apple Jack & I think it's ridiculously adorable. I can't wait to create some cute pages (and who knows what else) using it.

Snow 2010
We've been having quite the cold snap here in the south this week. Anyone who lives down here, or has, knows what even the *mention* of snow does to people. They go crazy! ;o) You'd think we were going to get like a foot of snow the way some people act: rushing to the store for milk & bread, driving like they've never been behind the wheel before, etc.
Well, we finally got some snow last night. I have to admit, I was super excited to see that it was sticking. When we woke up this morning we had a whole inch on the ground! LOL Hey, it's something right? Jboy was super excited to see the snow, though he seems to equate snow with Santa coming, so he was rather disappointed to learn that Santa wasn't on his way again.
Of course we had to get out and let him play a little bit. There really wasn't much left on the ground & what was there was very soft. Here are a few pictures:
This is what happens when you tell a 3 year old it's time to come in from playing in the snow.
I hope we get more before winter's over, and more accumulation next time. But we'll take what we can get!
