when good clippers go bad
Okay, so I'm *mostly* kidding about the title. Mostly. This past weekend I went away with the girls for a fun filled getaway of relaxation, laughs, and oh yeah... some scrapbooking. There will be another post to follow about that... sometime.
Anyhoo... while I was gone, Chris decided that Jonathan needed a haircut. I should back up a bit & say that Chris & I have been having "discussions" about Jonathan's hair since forever. He's always wanted to just use the clippers, and I've always just refused. I love Jonathan's red hair & it's always been super cute. Cut to Mommy being gone & Daddy home alone with the kidlet. He called me on Friday (or Saturday, the whole weekend was a blur) and told me that he'd cut Jonathan's hair. I had a bit of a fit. I did manage to calm down eventually, understanding that it's "just" hair and it will grow back. I should also point out that Jonathan has two cowlicks, one on the top of his head, and one right in front. That one in front has worried me since the day he was born.
Well, I get home Monday night & the boy is in bed, so it's not until Tuesday that I really get a good look at his hair. I will admit that it's not as bad as I was expecting... but it's still way too short for my taste. Especially on the top & front. That front cowlick calls for longer hair to help it lay down.
What do you think? You can scroll down a few posts & see what his hair looked like before.
I'm not quite sure what's up in this picture, it's not that uneven on top, maybe it's the angle. And side note... doesn't he look ridiculously grown up in this picture? Ack!
So, all in all, it could've been a lot worse, but we'll definitely be growing it out. Like Chris said, now we know what it looks like buzzed. And like I say... now we know not to do that again. :o) Love ya babe!

new respect
Jonathan has an owl (Mr. Owl) that he sleeps with. I've been wanting to do a layout about Mr. Owl for some time, and a few weeks ago I bought some cute scrapbook paper that has owls on it. For Easter, Jonathan had received a cute shirt that has similar colors to the paper, so this evening I decided it was time to stage a photo shoot.
I have a new respect for child & family photographers. My goodness it's hard to get a 2 1/2 year old to sit still, or pose or even hold the owl you so badly want his picture with. Maybe if it wasn't his mommy asking him to do these things he'd be a little more cooperative. Oy vey.
I did manage to get a few good shots. None of these I'm posting have Mr. Owl in them, but I think I have a couple to work with.
Have you noticed anything different about my blog? It's nothing too major, but I like it. One of my favorite blogs, (hmmm, I say that a lot, they're all my favorite!) kevinandamanda, posted a tutorial today on how to change the font for your post titles & side bar titles. I've always wanted to know how to do that and, now, thanks to Amanda's generosity of sharing her skills, I have fancy new titles. ;o) Thanks Amanda!
This weekend I'm heading up to the mountains with the girls for some fun, relaxation and possible scrapbooking! We're all taking our supplies with us, but who knows if we'll actually get any scrapping done. If nothing else it will be a great time to do nothing but watch movies & try to not eat too much. I do hope to get some scrapping done, so I'd better get to planning a bit. I have some pics that need printed and I like to have some sort of idea of what I'm doing before I get started.
Well, I think I'm off to bed for the night. Until next time!

Easter 2009
Happy Easter!
We had a wonderful service at church this morning. It's so easy to get caught up in all of the fun, Easter Bunny stuff and I was thankful for the opportunity to celebrate the real reason for Easter; Christ's resurrection! He Is Risen! The choir sang a great song that was very moving. I'll have to find out what it was called & post a link to it.
I had better share some pictures or I'll get in trouble. Jonathan looks like such a little man(n) in his outfit; don't you think? Thanks Grammie & Grumpie for the new duds!
These next two were lucky shots as Jonathan isn't much for sitting still for the camera these days. I thought they turned out really well though. Definitely frame worthy!
I have a few more pics, but they'll be in a separate post as I can only post 4 at a time... stinkin' Picasa! ;o)

Easter pt. 2
"Hunting" for eggs. This one was pretty easy to find!
One of Jonathan's gifts from Grammie & Grumpie was a Big Wheel! He's still a bit short to actually work the pedals, but he loved it all the same. Daddy pushed him around the driveway & he was having a big time. I remember having one of these as a kid. We had a ramp in my grandparents driveway that I thought was HUGE and was afraid to drive over. I've looked at pictures and that thing couldn't have been more than three inches off the ground! Ha!
Happy Family!!!

Good Friday
I saw this video on one of my favorite blogs; Kelly's Korner. Enjoy this Good Friday & let's remember the sacrifice that Christ made for us.

remember me?
I'm the girl who used to post on this blog regularly. Ring any bells? No? Well, since I haven't really been around in awhile, other than {wordless wednesdays}, which are mostly for my mom, I'll just post some bullets to catch up...
* Jonathan is as busy as always. It's rare for him to sit still for any length of time. He'll be 2 1/2 next weekend & I can't believe it. I don't know that I've ever known a child that talks as much as he does, and now we can understand 99% of what he says. If I had a quarter for every time I hear "Jonny's hungry" during the day I'd be a rich lady. Even after he's just finished eating something he'll say, "Jonny's hungry". We find it quite funny that he refers to himself as "Jonny" as my sister is the only one who calls him that. I've been meaning to get some video of him dancing, but I need to charge the batteries for the other camera. One day...
* Thursday I finally made use of the gift certificate that Chris gave me last year to Spa Sydell. He was beginning to think I wouldn't ever use it! I'd never had a massage or facial before & both were wonderful! I'd have to say my favorite part was when they massaged my hands. They could do it all day & I'd be just fine. If I received another gift certificate someday you can bet I wouldn't complain! Thanks honey!
* I'm still not 100% back on the Weight Watchers wagon. I don't even know what to say about it anymore. I was actually going to cancel my membership last weekend, but I just couldn't push the button to do it. I don't know what to do.
Well, that's all I've got for now.
