Last month we signed Jboy up to play Spring T-Ball, and tonight was his first practice.
Ever since we bought his helmet, bat & glove he’s been over the moon excited about playing. All day today he kept asking if it was time for his T-Ball game.
Practice was at 6:00, and we got to the field right on time. The coach had the kids running the bases, learning how to catch “grounders”, and hitting pitches in no time. Jboy was doing such a great job listening & doing as he was told.
After about 30 minutes or so, the team mom was going around giving everyone their schedules. She came over & asked what our child’s name was & we told her. I was concerned when she couldn’t find his name on their roster. We’d paid the fee {well, Chris’ grandmother had} and I’d been to the team meeting the week before. I asked what the team name was & she said, “the Mud Cats”. Oh! Well, there’s the problem. Jboy is on the “Muckdogs”! Oops! We’d been practicing with the wrong team for the first half of practice. I was so embarrassed.
Across the way his real team was practicing. We all had a pretty good chuckle over it. I’ll know better next time.
Anyway, here are some pictures of his first practice. Some of them are from when we were with the wrong team, but they turned out too cute to not share.
The look on his face in this one cracks me up!
And, this is the look of a boy who loved playing T-Ball & was VERY upset that it was time to go. He cried for the longest time & kept saying he was sad because his game was over.
We’re really looking forward to the rest of the season & seeing how he does once the real games start.
