Paper or electronic?

I'm kind of on the fence about electronic reading devices. I love to read, but, to me, part of the experience is the feel of the book in your hands & the sound of the pages turning.

However, I'm certainly willing to give it a try.

Fiddledeedee is giving away a Sony Pocket Reader on her giveaway page. Go check it out & enter if you want... but I'll be honest, I hope *I* win!

BTW - do you have one of these electronic reading devices? What are your thoughts?

Let me try that again, without the 47 typos. LOL

I didn't think I'd like my Kindle, but I LOVE it. I've already finished 1 book and am 30% through the next.

It feels great in your hand and the "paper like" type really does look like your reading a book, not an electronic screen.

I'm all for saving trees and maybe it would be close enough but for some things I need paper. Especially for magazines.

I'm on the fence too . . . I think I want one though. I enjoy reading in the tub and I'd be terrified that I'd drop it in the water. If I ever do decide to get one I'd probably go for the Kindle.

I got Will a Kindle for his birthday and he loves it. You have to keep in mind though that he is a gadget guy. I think its pretty neat but much prefer words on paper and the smell of old books. They are handy for travel, etc. but I have a hard time staying focused long enough to read on a screen. If you're getting it for free I don't see why not but books are still the way to go in my opinion.
